Detailed description of Hickory Knob Golf Course
Hickory Knob Golf Course is a Resort / State Park 18 holes golf course nestled along the shores of Lake Thurmond in McCormick, South Carolina.
Hickory Knob Golf Course first opened for play in 1982. The course was designed by Tom Jackson.
The course was built on rolling terrain with pine trees lining the fairways. Water hazards come into play on nine holes.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,560 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,905 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 574 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 176 yards from the back tees.
The most difficult hole is #2, a 552-yard, par 5, requiring an uphill approach shot to a well-bunkered green. The easiest hole is # 11, a 320 yard par-4.
